QuickPlace upload problems with XP SP2

We have been having a problems recently uploading files in QuickPlace from XP SP2 users.  Quite simply they could not do it!  Initially we were still running QuickPlace 2,0,8 (yes I know it is an old version, not supported etc.), but have since upgraded to 6.5.1.

The initial upgrade was problematic - some places refused to upgrade.  After a search through the IBM support site, I found this document, which did little to encourage me.  The version it refers to, is not publically available, so I had to open a support ticket to get it.

Any way, after applying this hotfix (350654.35) SX SP2 users were still unable to upload files!

We opened a ticket with IBM, with which we went through all the usual basic stuff, going nowhere fast!  So we turned to the trusty QuickPlace Forum, and found some hits that sounded useful.  This one in particular.  After trying out the theory of deleting the NTLM value from hkey_local_machine\software\lotus\quickplace registry key I was able to upload files again.

However, I was able to continue uploading the files, whereas the above posts indicated the problem returned after the first successful upload.  After updating IBM support, whose response was "oooh yes, I remember that now!", they confirmed that this had been fixed in the latest QuickPlace hotfix.  To be sure, I searched through the fixes and found:

Of course, now comes the challenge of removing the registry key from our users PC's.  Which is ok for our employees, but as we use QuickPlace with our customers and vendors, will be a bit more challenging.

So, if you are having problems uploading files to QuickPlace 6.5.1 from a Windows XP SP2 system, make sure you are running hotfix version 350654.35.
