How long is a piece of string?

It appears there are two questions in life that are very difficult to get an answer to.

The first being "How long is a piece of string?", the second being "How much will our EA agreement be Microsoft?"

You would of thought that a software company, whose revenue is generated from selling software, would be able to give you a price on the software licenses you wish to purchase/maintain from them!  Is it not in their interest to be efficient in this process, to ensure the process is completed swiftly and with no ill feelings?

Yet, here I find myself treading through the mire of a Microsoft EA agreement.  I can only assume the first attempt, was merely a guise to set our expectations very low, as anything would look good after that - or maybe an exercise in arrogance to see what they can get away with!!

The second proposal, albeit with a few more details, still failed to reflect what we expect from Microsoft.  A company that is looking to invest more than before, does not expect to loose any prior negotiated discounts, in fact I expect to see an improvement in them.

So, what will proposal number three look like?  I should find out today!
