FMC CIO Awards

I have worked on the FMC CITIAC (IT Investor Awards Committee) committee for about a year now, and have really enjoyed the opportunity it has brought to motivate and reward the IT department.  And now (brought on by Vee's hiatus!) have the honour of taking on the chair person role.

Vee left just as the teams efforts were focusing on hosting the first annual 'CIO Awards - Recognising innovation and excellence'.  So without further ado, armed with Vee's notes/script, some completed videos and some raw footage, we set off to complete the CIO Awards.

The CITIAC team (Simon Barratt, Martin Yee, Irene Elia, Eric Connelly, Claire Campbell and Scott Erwin) had already agreed on what the format of the event should be like: - 'pumping', 'fun', 'year in review' and 'recognition of IT efforts' - basically a fun show, that would publically recognise superior performance.

We held a final prep meeting on the 2nd March, to finalise all the details.  The biggest accomplishments on this day, was building management approving our request to use the smoke machine and obtaining some really kick ass speakers/wireless microphone for the room!!

I don't think we could of expected it to be as good as it was!  Everything went as expected - including Martin veering way off the script!  The lights, the sound, the smoke, the videos, and most importantly, the awards themselves, all came together to create a one of moment!

We had a great time running the show.  There was a noticeable high on the floor all day after the event, and we are looking forward to making sure this becomes an annual event.

Congratulations to:
  • CIO Bank Roll Award: Mark Kockott
  • CIO Century Award: Mike Parry
  • CIO Quarter Award: Steve Burdziak
