iPhone OS 3.0 still lacking in offline Exchange email support

It looks like my hopes were ill founded re the 3.0 update to the iPhone.

The same glaring issue that was introduced with the 2.0 version and Exchange email access remains in 3.0.  It still does not support offline email processing.  So, when you happen to hit a deadzone (on the train mainly) and are attempting to delete emails from your Exchange email account, you still get the annoying pop up error about being unable to delete the message (for every message you attempted to delete - so there could be many of these) and then all the emails magically re-appear in your inbox, and you have to do it all over again once you get  a data connection!  I was really hoping this would of been fixed in 3.0.

I also hoped this update would improve the auto discovery support for Exchange 2007, but it still does not support SRV record lookups (as far as I am aware no mobile phones support this, not even Windows Mobile!)

On the upside though the Spotlight search feature is excellent.  The ability to quickly find anything on the phone is such a time saver.
