WTF???
I can't quite beleive what I read this morning! Shinawatra has decided to fire Sven at the end of the season!
The guy must have his reasons, but I can't guess what. Sven has put out a good first season as the manager. We have played good football to watch and have perfomed better than we have for a long time. The squad has been built to some degree, and I was expecting it to be added to during the summer.
One major milestone achieved this season was the elusive double over our scum neighbours. For City fans everywhere he will be remembered for that alone!
Considering he was so late in becoming the manager last year, I think he forged a new team well, and I was hopeful for more improvement next season. Shinawatra supposedly laid out a 3 year plan as part of his goal to take City global. We might not be ending the season as well as we started it, but have certainly achieved the goal set for the first season.
So who will replace him? Who knows...Mourinho??? hahahahahaha

BBC's article says that they were hopeful for a top 10 finish this year. Mission accomplished, and no reasonable person could have expected MCFC stay in the top four the entire season. A nice start to the season, to be sure, but not something City fans could have expected to endure. Beat United twice? No better way for a City manager to get the fans singing his praises.
Perhaps Thaksin's feeling like he should get the same sort of love from his supporters that Hicks and Gillett get from the Kop in Liverpool. He's feeling left out or something.
Disgraceful.
Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. If he had done a better job managing England maybe I would feel bad for him.
Sven had his ways, to be sure! Overall he did as good as any other manager of England - about 65% win rate.
8-1 at 'Boro? Was that Sven's "You can't sack me. I quit!" or what?
I hear ya Bill! That was a 'WTF' of enormous proportions. When it got to 4-0 I just started laughing! I think the players we sending a message to Shinatwatra!
